Family preview notes

What your server stores

Your account email, a salted password hash, linked TV identifiers, playlist settings, favourites and viewing progress. Playlist settings and viewing state are encrypted at rest with the server key. The server owner controls the database and that key.

The website uses one HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics trackers. Signing out removes the browser session; unlinking a TV revokes its server access. A TV can retain its previously downloaded local library.

Connections

TVs contact your IPTV provider directly for catalogues and video. Metadata requests go through the IPSYS gateway to TMDB. Cloudflare Tunnel carries the website and account API when enabled; it does not carry IPTV video.

Before a public release

This is an invite-only development preview, not a finished public service. Password recovery, account deletion tools, production signing, release updates and migration from the old IPSYS service are not yet implemented. The server owner must back up the database and encryption key together.

Open source

The Android client is derived from OpenTV under GPL-3.0-or-later. Keep the license notices and provide the matching source and build instructions with any distributed APK. This local preview includes its source in the project directory.

IPSYS does not supply video content or IPTV subscriptions.
